Israeli Military Strikes Hamas Weapons Manufacturing Site, Eliminates Commander
The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Hamas commander Ismail Abu Ful at a weapons manufacturing site in Maghazi, Gaza, striking explosives and rocket production.
Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) struck in the Maghazi area of Gaza on Sunday, eliminating Ismail Abu Ful, a commander at a Hamas weapons manufacturing site. The terrorist took an active part in manufacturing explosive devices and anti-tank rockets for Hamas, the IDF said, and was eliminated to remove the threat.
The manufacturing site, established near an aid distribution point operated by an international organization, was also struck. The IDF said this reflects Hamas’s systematic use of civilian infrastructure, including aid centers, to advance attacks against Troops in the Yellow Line area and Israeli civilians.
“These actions demonstrate that the Hamas terrorist organization systematically violates the ceasefire agreement while attempting to rehabilitate its military capabilities and strengthen its force buildup,” the IDF said.
