Every wave is visible. The all-time peak is 1990, with 197,379 arrivals as the Soviet Union collapsed. The recent spike is 2022, when 76,601 people arrived, almost all of them from Russia and Ukraine after the invasion.

of France's olim in three towns
Olim from France are the most concentrated of any large origin country: 59.2% settled in just three towns.
Netanya (9,525), Jerusalem (6,606), Tel Aviv-Yafo (5,417) took 59.2% of the 36,372 people who arrived from France between 2015 and 2025. At the other end, Azerbaijan's olim are the most spread out: 23.9% in their top three towns.
How it is counted. Settlement concentration: the share of a country's olim registered in its three most-chosen absorption towns, for the 23 countries that sent at least 1,000 people over the detailed record.

the busiest month for arrivals
August is the busiest month for aliyah, and July and August together carry 21.4% of the year's arrivals.
42,939 people landed in August across 2015 to 2025, against 25,778 in February, the quietest month. The likely reason is the school year: families move between one and the next.

In 2025, France moved furthest above its own recent average (+84%) and Ukraine furthest below it (-85%).
France sent 3,353 people in 2025 against an average of 1,827 a year over 2022 to 2024. Ukraine sent 928 against 6,105.

Who comes
Families and retirees, not just young singles
The median age on arrival in 2025 was 32, and 21.5% of arrivals were under 18, while 2,608 people were 65 or older. Aliyah is a family move at least as often as it is a young single one, which is why "school pupil" and "retired" both sit near the top of the recorded-profession list every year.
The split by sex is close to even: 11,919 women and 10,504 men in 2025, or 53% women. The age panel in the explorer above breaks the same year into six bands.

Four towns took 47.8% of 2025 arrivals
10,719 of the 22,423 people who arrived in 2025 registered in one of four towns. The absorption town is recorded on arrival, so this is where people started, not necessarily where they stayed.

The record
What is actually being counted
Two ministry series sit behind the long line at the top of this page. Monthly totals run from 1989, and person-level files, the ones that carry town, age and profession, start in 2015. Where the two overlap the person-level files win, so the line changes source once, at 2015, and never counts a year twice.
Every figure counts people granted oleh status, not tourists and not returning residents. Town, age and profession are recorded at registration, which is why "not stated" appears in the profession ranking: it is what the form says, not a gap this site filled in.

How many people made aliyah in 2025?+
22,423 people immigrated to Israel under the Law of Return in 2025, according to the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration. The largest single source was Russia with 8,548 arrivals.
Which country sends the most olim?+
Across 2015 to 2025, Russia sent 168,317 olim, ahead of Ukraine (58,850) and United States (36,459). The ranking moves sharply with events: the 2022 spike came almost entirely from Russia and Ukraine.
Where do new immigrants actually live?+
In 2025 the most common absorption towns were Tel Aviv-Yafo, Netanya, Jerusalem, Haifa. Destination varies enormously by origin: Americans concentrate in Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh and Modi'in, while arrivals from the former Soviet Union skew to Haifa, Netanya, Bat Yam and Ashdod.
Is aliyah mostly young people?+
No. The median age on arrival in 2025 was 32, and 21.5% were under 18. Retirees are a consistent presence: "retired" is one of the most commonly recorded occupations every year.
