Israeli Military Establishes New Technological-Operational Hub for Developing Processing Platforms
Israel Defense Forces establishes new "Alumot" unit, a tech hub for developing AI and information processing platforms for the battlefield.
Jerusalem, 24 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) established an new high-tech unit. The New “Alumot” unit, which the IDF said will be technological hub for developing processing platforms for its forces, is part of the IDF’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and Cyber Defense Division
Head of the Communications and Cyber Defense Division, Major General Aviad Dagan: “The unit will operate to develop and make accessible the information and artificial intelligence capabilities we have to the fighters at the front.”
The unit is being established against the backdrop of changing combat challenges and the growing need for rapid development of information and artificial intelligence capabilities for the battlefield.
It is intended to serve as a technological-operational hub for the development of information platforms and information processing and access capabilities for IDF forces. It produces and develops information and artificial intelligence technological systems for the operational edge.
Alumot consists of fighters, technology professionals, information researchers and artificial intelligence experts. It will operate in collaboration with all branches and bodies in the IDF in order to adapt technological solutions to the operational user.
