Jerusalem, 26 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Tensions between israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir continued.

Speaking at a ceremony on the anniversary of David Ben-Gurion’s death, Zamir said that Israel “needs leadership that can acknowledge failure and still dare to lead change.”

He added, “It is now clear to us beyond any doubt: an explanation is not enough, criticism is not enough. Israel needs leadership that can acknowledge failure and still dare to lead change – not leadership that frightens and overwhelms but leadership that lifts, not leadership that evades responsibility but one that looks the truth in the eye.”

Katz and Zamir are clashing over senior military appointments.
