Jerusalem, 3 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “procedures are under way to wrap up the Hamas – Sumud provocation and to finalise the deportation of the participants in this sham. Already 4 Italian citizens have been deported. The rest are in the process of being deported. Israel is keen to end this procedure as quickly as possible”.

Most of the European detainees were to be initially transported by chartered plane to Spain, but the plan was canceled due to protests and fears of demonstrations upon their arrival in Madrid. Those detainees who refuse to sign the deportation order will be brought before the courts to be deported by court order. All are being held at facilities in Qajar, where officials from their countries’ embassies are trying to persuade them to leave voluntarily.

Those who are not flown to Europe will be deported via the Allenby Bridge (with Jordan) or on commercial flights. Their boats will not be sunk as was the case with previous flotillas, but Israel will seek to confiscate them through the Courts. Israel will cover the costs of deportation without assistance from the detainees’ countries of origin.
