Israel Mobilizes 20,000 Home Front Command Reservists for Rescue Operations

Israel's Home Front Command has mobilized 20,000 reservists into 35 battalions nationwide to conduct search and rescue operations following recent incidents.

Jerusalem, 5 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Since the outbreak of war on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces has approximately 20,000 reservists from the Home Front Command, organized into around 35 battalions across the country, the IDF said.

These forces have responded to dozens of incidents, including 13 major crash sites, conducting rapid search, rescue, and assistance operations. The Home Front Command has also been active, operating roughly 120 information stations and responding to some 6,200 telephone inquiries.
