Jerusalem, 2 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Motorola Solutions announced Tuesday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ra’anana-based D-Fend Solutions, an Israeli counter-drone technology company, for $1.5 billion.

Founded in 2016, D-Fend develops radio-frequency-based counter-drone technology used by security and law enforcement agencies in more than 30 countries. Its system can take control of rogue drones and safely land them without the use of force.

Demand for counter-drone systems has increased in recent years as governments, security agencies and critical infrastructure operators seek protection against unauthorized drones.

“Rogue drones have transformed our skies into a landscape of unpredictable risk, where simple detection is no longer enough,” said Greg Brown, chairman and CEO of the U.S.-based Motorola Solutions. “With D-Fend, drone threats are not just identified — their communications are overridden and redirected, safely bringing them to the ground, keeping people and communities safe.”

According to D-Fend, annual revenue has grown by more than 50% in each of the past three years, and the company expects revenue to reach $185 million in 2026.

“Joining Motorola Solutions allows us to accelerate our mission of securing the skies,” said D-Fend Chairman and CEO Zohar Halachmi. “By leveraging Motorola Solutions’ deep expertise and long-term customer relationships across public safety, federal and enterprise, we can deliver even greater impact to the communities and organizations we serve.”

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
