Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The widely circulated Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that the Netherlands will officially return to compete in Eurovision 2027, which will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The Netherlands boycotted Eurovision 2026 in Vienna over Israel’s participation in the contest, joining a bloc of boycotting nations that included Spain, Slovenia, Ireland, and Iceland.

Jordi Versteegden, senior media journalist for De Telegraaf, revealed that rumors within the national broadcaster’s corridors have become a fact. “We’re just going. I hear through the grapevine that AVROTROS (the Dutch public broadcaster) is going to announce in two weeks that we’re going again. We’re going, and I wish that for everyone who loves the Eurovision Song Contest.”

Israel finished in 2nd place at the 2026 Eurovision with 343 points. Singer Noam Bettan represented the country with the trilingual song “Michelle.”
