Israel Intercepts Drone Near Eilat, Suspected Launch from Yemen
The Israel Defense Forces intercepted a drone approaching from the east near Eilat, with the UAV suspected to have launched from Yemen.
Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces said it intercepted a drone near Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city, shortly after it was identified as approaching from the east.
According to the military, the UAV is suspected to have been launched from Yemen, though its exact origin is still under investigation.
No air-raid sirens were activated, in line with established protocol, the IDF added.
The incident is the first drone attack on Eilat since ceasefires were reached in Iran and Lebanon last month.
