Terrorist Killer of Yehuda Sherman Indicted for Murder in Military Court

Duaas Hassan has been indicted for the murder of Yehuda Sherman and attempted murder of two others in a military court.

Jerusalem, 14 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said its Military Prosecution office today, Thursday, filed an indictment with the Military Court against Duaas Hassan for the murder of Yehuda Sherman.

According to the indictment, on March 21, 2026, after the defendant learned that Israeli citizens were traveling toward his village of residence, Bayt Amin, located near Qalqilya, the defendant set out in a pickup truck he owned and waited near the road leading to the village.

When the defendant spotted three Israelis traveling in an off-road vehicle, he decided to strike the vehicle they were in.

The defendant followed the vehicle, and when he identified that it had slowed down near a steep slope, he rammed, deliberately and with force, into the rear part of the vehicle.

As a result of the impact, the vehicle flew off and rolled down the cliff. The occupants of the vehicle were thrown from it, leading to the death of Yehuda Sherman and the injury of another citizen.

The indictment attributes to the defendant the offense of “intentional infliction of death” (equivalent to the offense of murder), attempted intentional infliction of death on the two additional citizens who were traveling in the vehicle, obstruction of justice, and offenses related to possession of a weapon without a permit.

Upon filing the indictment, the Military Prosecution petitioned for the defendant’s detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings against him.

The Military Court ordered his detention until a different decision is made, with a hearing on the prosecution’s request for detention until the end of proceedings scheduled for June 2, 2026.
