Israels Aid Delegation Concludes Week of Rescue Operations in Colombia, Rescues 27
An Israeli aid delegation rescued 27 people in Cali, Colombia, after a week of operations, also assessing 100 buildings and training local professionals.
Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Approximately one week has passed since Israel’s “Brit Re’im” (Alliance of Brothers) humanitarian delegation departed to assist with search-and-rescue and recovery efforts in Cali, Colombia.
Missions to locate and rescue trapped individuals at the three destruction sites where the delegation operated were completed Wednesday, with all 27 trapped individuals located and rescued.
As part of the effort, engineering surveys and assessments were conducted at approximately 100 public and residential buildings throughout the city, alongside training provided to local professionals. The assessments focused on critical structures in education, healthcare and municipal administration, essential to restoring the city’s functionality.
The delegation has achieved most of its objectives, and its mission in Colombia is nearing completion. The engineering team continues its work while preparations are underway to transfer responsibility to Colombian authorities and for the delegation’s return to Israel.
