Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — At the request of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and in accordance with the Entry into Israel Law, the Population and Immigration Authority will deny entry to two European Parliament members from Sweden’s Left Party, Jonas Sjöstedt and Hanna Gedin, who had requested to visit the Palestinian Authority. The two were scheduled to arrive in Israel Sunday night.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the two have consistently acted against Israel in recent years, including calling for international legal proceedings against Israelis. On various public occasions, they made accusations against Israel, including claims of genocide, intentional starvation, and deliberate targeting of children and medical personnel.
