Breaking News

Jerusalem, 26 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security reported that, on November 1, an update will come into effect according to the automatic mechanism for the prices of eggs under supervision, in which an increase of approximately 1% will apply to the price to the consumer, so that the price of a package of 12 eggs (L) to the consumer will increase by 0.15 Shekels ($0.045) for the entire package.

This is a moderate increase after the price of eggs was last updated about two and a half years ago, in February 2023, when their price increased by 16%. The update reflects changes in the costs of production and marketing of eggs.

The current egg price update reflects the changes that have occurred in all components of the value chain, from the breeder, through the marketer and retailer to the consumer. During the recent period, there has been a decrease in the calculation of the breeder segment, which includes, among other things, the prices of grains and mixtures for laying hens. However, at the same time, there has been an increase in the calculation of the marketer and retailer segments, which include all operating components, including wage costs, the consumer price index, fuel, oils, packaging, logistics and transportation. The combination of all these factors has led to a moderate update in the final price to the consumer according to the formula.
