Jerusalem, 23 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli combat engineers destroyed a roughly one-kilometer Hamas tunnel uncovered in southern Gaza’s Rafah, the Israel Defense Forces said. According to the IDF, the underground passage — located on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line — included multiple rooms used by operatives as hideouts, where weapons were also found. Forces also demolished a tunnel shaft linked to an October 28 2025 attack that killed an Israeli soldier.
