Government Makes Preparations for Operating Public Housing During Current Emergency
Israel's Ministry of Construction and Housing is implementing emergency protocols for public housing and senior care to ensure service continuity.
Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Following the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Home Front Command’s instructions and the declaration of a special situation in the home front, the Ministry of Construction and Housing has completed extensive preparations for operating public housing systems and housing assistance in an emergency format throughout the country.
Last night, the Ministry instructed public housing and housing assistance management companies to move to an emergency format, reinforce telephone and digital hotlines, and carry out urgent work only In accordance with the guidelines.
As part of the preparation, it instructed the companies managing public housing and senior citizen homes to operate in accordance with a designated emergency format, while emphasizing maintaining service continuity, treating populations in need of assistance, and ensuring the readiness of protected spaces.
In addition, the companies operating the senior homes were Instructed to increase the presence of staff and drivers, ensure full readiness of the protected spaces, and prepare to provide continuous support to residents, including assistance to elderly populations in need of special help.
