Military Apprehends Two Terrorists Planning Attacks Against Israeli Civilians
IDF forces, guided by Shin Bet, apprehended Imam Khazzam and another terrorist in the Jenin and Sanur areas planning attacks on Israeli civilians.
Jerusalem, 24 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers conducted counter-terrorism activity overnight Monday in the Jenin area and, guided by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), apprehended Imam Khazzam, who was operating to advance a terror attack on Israel’s home front.
Imam is the son of Fathi Khazzam, who was eliminated last Thursday after attempting to stab an IDF soldier during operational activity in Jenin. Following his father’s death, Imam expressed intentions to carry out an attack against Israeli civilians and security forces.
Imam Khazzam is also the brother of Raed Khazzam, who carried out the 2022 Dizengoff shooting attack that killed three Israeli civilians and wounded six others.
In a separate operation Sunday in the Sanur area, IDF soldiers, guided by Shin Bet, apprehended an additional terrorist planning attacks against Israeli civilians.
