Wildfires in Samaria Under Control
Israel's Fire and Rescue Service reports control over Samaria wildfires and ongoing efforts in the Jordan Valley, aided by firefighting aircraft.
Jerusalem, 3 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service issued an update on the ongoing wildfire in Samaria and the Jordan River Valley, reporting that control has been achieved over the fire hotspots on Highway 60 that runs through Samaria, and in the Jordan Valley firefighters are working with firefighting aircraft to contain the fire there.
In the Jordan Valley, the teams are continuing their firefighting operations, in an attempt to contain the spread of the fire towards the vegetation line along the Jordan River.
The teams are operating in cooperation with Nature and Parks Authority inspectors and firefighting aircraft from the “Elad” squadron which carried out approximately ten extinguishing rounds at the scene to date, and these will continue until dark.
