Only 30% of Medical Supplies Available for Shipment Entered Gaza Since January 1st Due to UN Failures, Israeli Agency Says

COGAT states UN agencies have only delivered 30% of approved medical supplies to Gaza since January 1st, attributing the shortfall to their own coordination.

Jerusalem, 4 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli Agency COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reports that, since the beginning of the year, more than 10,000 pallets of medicines and Medical Supplies have been approved through the UN2720 mechanism, (enables the prioritization of aid deliveries based on needs in Gaza) which is operated in cooperation with UNOPS (Office for Project Services), for the UN and international organizations, for entry to Gaza.

In practice, however, UN agencies and international organizations have coordinated and brought in only approximately 3,000 pallets, or only 30% of those available for shipment into Gaza.

“If there is a need for additional supplies, the mechanism to bring them in already exists,” said COGAT. ” The approvals have been granted, and it is now up to the UN and international organizations to utilize the approvals they have requested and received.”

“While some choose to Promote claims of Israeli restrictions,” asserted the agency, “the facts tell a different story: the approvals are in place, and their implementation depends on coordination by the organizations that requested them.

“The figures speak for themselves,” COGAT declared, pledging that it will, “continue to work with our partners in the international community to coordinate solutions.”
