Foreign Minister Saar Holds Talks On Lebanon with Visiting US Congressmen
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar met US Congressmen Hamadeh and Stutzman in Jerusalem to discuss Lebanon, Syria, and protecting minority groups.
Jerusalem, 27 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with visiting US Republican Congressmen Abraham Hamadeh from Arizona and Marlin Stutzman from Indiana. Hamadeh is the son of Arab Syrian immigrants to the US.
Sa’ar said the three had an “in-depth” discussion on regional issues, including Lebanon and Syria., during which he stressed the need to safeguard Syria’s minorities.
He also described the aim of Israel’s activities in Southern Lebanon: protecting its citizens from Hezbollah attacks within Lebanese territory and dismantling the “terror kingdom” it built there.
