Knesset approves $370 million for post-war recovery in northern Israel, aiding communities affected by Hezbollah rocket attacks.

Jerusalem, 27 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — After months of delays, the Knesset Finance Committee on Monday cleared NIS 1.2 billion ($370 million) earmarked for northern Israel’s post-war recovery.

The funds, held up by the Finance Ministry’s reluctance to provide legal details, will aid communities affected by Hezbollah’s daily rocket attacks, which forced roughly 60,000 residents to evacuate. The allocation supports towns within two kilometers of the Lebanese border and helps restore business and municipal life up to nine kilometers away.

This release is part of a wider five-year plan approved in October 2024, which budgeted NIS 15 billion ($4.6 billion) to rehabilitate and develop the north, though much of that funding has yet to be distributed.
