Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Tourism Office in China held its first media and influencer event in three years on August 13 in Chengdu, bringing together 21 Chinese key opinion leaders, content creators and media representatives.

The event highlighted Israel’s summer, nature and water-sports attractions, showcasing the Mediterranean Sea, Dead Sea, Red Sea and Sea of Galilee. Participants also took part in kayaking, a question-and-answer session and discussions about Israel as a travel destination.

Tourism Office Director Ola Gurevich Lucas said the event aimed to update Chinese audiences on Israel and rebuild ties with the travel and media community.

“It was very heartwarming to see that, although traveling has become more challenging, the interest in Israel has not disappeared,” Gurevich Lucas said.

The event comes as Israel and China prepare to mark 35 years of diplomatic relations in 2027.
