Mezuzah Torn from Doorway of Israeli-French Singers Paris Home
Israeli-French singer Amir Haddad reported a mezuzah was torn from his Paris home's doorway before his departure for Israel last week.
Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli-French singer Amir Haddad revealed that the mezuzah on the doorway of his home in Paris had been torn from its place shortly before he left for Israel last week. Haddad said he had discovered the incident when he went to kiss the mezuzah goodbye before heading to the airport.
A mezuzah is a small parchment scroll inscribed with specific Torah verses. It is placed inside a decorative case and affixed to the right doorpost of a Jewish home.
“They touched something important to me, but they will never be able to touch what’s inside us,” Haddad said, adding that he believed this too shall pass, adding, “They will grow tired long before we do.”
