Jerusalem District police officers and Border Police fighters are currently operating against rioters in Paris Square in Jerusalem, after protesters held an unlicensed procession.

Jerusalem police and Border Police dispersed rioters at Paris Square after an unlicensed procession violated protest conditions, leading to traffic disruption.

The police’s agreements and conditions regarding the holding of protests in the location were given the force of a court ruling in High Court of Justice petition 353/24. It should be emphasized that those who violated the order used high-volume amplification equipment before Shabbat began, in proximity to residential areas, and while disrupting the fabric of life in the location. After a police officer announced to the participants to abide by the conditions for holding the protest and to cease the use of amplification equipment, and as they refused, the remaining operational equipment was seized. Subsequently, a disturbance developed that included blocking roads and an unauthorized procession that disrupted traffic, and after another announcement by a police officer regarding the disturbance, forces began using reasonable force to restore public order and open traffic routes.
