Jerusalem, 30 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Transportation and the Cross-Israel Corporation have completed the expansion of Highway 471, which includes a new public transportation route heading west. The cost of the project is estimated at approximately 35 million Shekels ($11.7 million).

Highway 471 is an east-west expressway that connects to north-south highways to the east of Tel Aviv.

As part of the project, the highway was widened with a new public transportation route opened to traffic, designed to give priority to buses, improve service reliability, and shorten travel times for public transportation users. Alongside this, the project is expected to “significantly reduce traffic congestion in the area and enable continuous, more comfortable and faster travel for all road users.”
