Israels Defense Minister Orders Sanctions Against Digital Wallets Used to Finance Iranian Terror
Israel's Defense Minister orders sanctions and seizure of 37 crypto wallets linked to Iranian terror financing, totaling over $8 million in seized digital.
Jerusalem, 5 July, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered, upon the recommendation of the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing, an administrative seizure order against 37 digital currency wallets, which he said were a “central part of the terror financing infrastructure” of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah. Cryptocurrencies totaling over 24 million Shekels ($8 million) were located in the wallets.
An investigation revealed that, over the years, millions of dollars were transferred to terror organizations through the wallets.
“The thwarting of terror financing through the Sanctions Order is another pillar in the economic campaign against terror,” said the Bureau, “and is the result of combined intelligence, operational, and legal activity by the Bureau at the Ministry of Defense and additional security bodies.”
The Order is valid for two years from the date of its signing or until the date of signing an order for the confiscation of the seized property.
