Jerusalem, 18 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Abdullah Gargawi, a resident of the Bedouin Town of Shaqib al-Salam, southeast of Beersheba, told police that he had planned to blow up a club and kill “the people dancing there, whether Jews or Arabs.”
He was Indicted on Tuesday for contacting a foreign agent, preparing to carry out an act of terror, weapons offenses and other crimes.
In his interrogation, Gargawi said, “About a month before Ramadan 2026, I searched YouTube for how to make explosives. A video came up showing how to make an explosive charge.”
“The video said I needed agricultural lime, sulfur, and charcoal,” he continued. “I found the lime in a storage shed – I have an uncle who works in Jenin. I took a cup of lime from the sack and removed 75 grams from it. I took regular charcoal from home, but they refused to sell me sulfur. I went to Dhahiriya, in the Hebron area, but couldn’t find any. I returned home and decided to take sulfur from matches. I tried to ignite them in my grandfather’s concrete yard. There was a spark and smoke.”
According to the indictment, Gargawi began consuming ISIS-related content on social media as early as 2022 and allegedly established contact with ISIS supporters.
