Negev Police Seize 3 Weapons, Arrest 4 Suspects

Negev Police arrested 4 suspects and seized 3 weapons, including an M-16 rifle, in operations against crime in Arab communities.

Four suspects were arrested. Southern District Police operated at several locations against crime instigators and shooting incidents in Arab society in the Negev. Following a report of a shooting incident, officers from the station in Laqya, along with the Urban Policing Unit and Border Police fighters, went to locate the source of the shooting. Within minutes, a vehicle was located containing an M-16 rifle with a round in the chamber, and a suspect involved in the shooting was arrested. In another operation in Tel Sheva, officers from the station in Laqya, in cooperation with the K9 Unit, conducted an proactive search in a residential compound where illegal weapons were suspected to be found. During the search, a Glock pistol, a box of ammunition, and hashish drugs were found concealed in the compound. The owner of the compound was arrested. In the town of Ar’ara in the Negev, officers from the station in Ar’ara, in cooperation with Border Police fighters, operated last night and conducted a proactive search in a residential compound.
