Jerusalem District Preparedness for the Weekend – Police Will Continue to Operate in Emergency Mode

Jerusalem District Police are on high alert this weekend for Operation "Lion's Roar," closing holy sites including the Western Wall and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Jerusalem District Police officers and Border Police fighters have been operating in emergency mode and extensively since the start of Operation “Lion’s Roar,” which will continue throughout the coming weekend in all sectors of the district.

The purpose of the reinforced deployment is to provide a swift and decisive response to any scenario, particularly rapid arrival at impact sites, in order to carry out life-saving operations and provide assistance to security and rescue forces.

In accordance with Home Front Command directives and in order to preserve public safety and human life, all holy sites in the Old City, including the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque (Temple Mount), and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, will remain closed, and entry for worshippers and visitors of all faiths will not be permitted.

We call on the public to be vigilant and to obey the instructions of the police officers.
