Jerusalem, 12 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that, following an extensive strike on the most central assets of internal security forces and the Basij (Iran’s domestic/religious police), in recent days it identified that Basij unit soldiers had set up checkpoints in several areas in Tehran.

Following the identification, the Israel Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, attacked the checkpoints and Basij soldiers.

These armed forces constitute part of the security apparatus of the Iranian regime and have been responsible for years for carrying out terror directives, explained the IDF.

In addition, these forces lead the central suppression operations of internal protests, and particularly in the recent period, through the use of severe violence, widespread arrests, and the application of force against civilian protesters.
