Jerusalem, 11 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Transportation and the Israel Ports Company have signed an agreement with the Port of Ashdod to allocate an additional 40 dunams (four hectares) of operational space. The move aims to expand the port’s capabilities, improve cargo handling times, and enhance service for importers and exporters.
Minister of Transportation Miri Regev said the move supports competition between ports, optimizes infrastructure, and lowers costs. Israel Ports Company CEO Pinchas Tzruya said the expansion will strengthen Israel’s supply chain and maritime trade.
