The government today approved my proposal and the proposal of Minister of Transportation Miri Regev to name Highway 443 – the road connecting our capital Jerusalem to the center of the country – “The Levites Road in memory of Minister David”
Highway 443 connecting Jerusalem and central Israel is renamed "The Levites Road" in memory of statesman David Levy.
David Levy was a leader who rose from Beit She’an, broke through with the strength of his faith and talent, and dedicated his life to strengthening the periphery, reducing gaps, and uniting Israel. He proudly carried the voice of many who felt unheard, and represented the State of Israel with honor and dignity before the nations of the world. Henceforth, hundreds of thousands of Israelis who travel this historic road, connecting our glorious past to our shared future, will also carry with them the name and legacy of David Levy – a man of the people, a statesman, and a dear partner on the way. May his memory be blessed.
