Jerusalem, 3 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In order to strengthen the “Gaza Envelope” region, the Southern District Committee approved for deposit the Ministry of Construction and Housing’s plan for the establishment of the new settlement of “Hanon” with approximately 500 Housing Units.
The new settlement will be established east of Kibbutz Saad and north of Highway 25. The settlement will include approximately 500 housing units, a large-scale regional educational center, a community and employment center, and advanced environmental development based on “Park HaEmek” and the regulation of Nahal Saad.
The plan, said the Ministry of Construction, offers a model of a rural-community settlement, while incorporating a variety of residential types: from single-family and two-family lots to concentrated and semi-saturated construction. In addition, the plan also includes small housing units with an average area of up to 80 square meters, with the aim of encouraging the absorption of young families and creating a diverse and vibrant community.
