Jerusalem, 14 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Education published the “Organization of Learning” document for the upcoming school year – the central document that “defines the learning structure, teaching hours, mandatory subjects, pedagogical programs, and educational resources throughout the entire education system in Israel.”

The document is intended to provide school principals and education teams with a clear framework alongside scope for managerial and pedagogical flexibility, from a perspective that sees the school as a central factor in adapting learning to the needs of students, to the changing reality, and to the challenges of the times.

At the center of the document is a national goal to strengthen STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Accordingly, mathematics and science subjects were defined as mandatory weekly hours throughout the system, alongside additional designated hours from the basket of nurturing hours, with the aim of expanding opportunities for scientific and technological excellence among all Israeli students.
