Millions Approved for Improvement of Quality of Life in the Golan
Israel's government has approved 29.3 million Shekels for environmental protection and quality of life improvements in the Golan Heights through 2030.
Jerusalem, 20 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The government of Israel approved support from the Ministry of Environmental Protection as part of a multi-year plan to encourage demographic growth in the Golan Heights and Katzrin for the years 2026 to 2030, for a total amount of up to 29.3 million Shekels ($9.7 million). The goal is to ensure that regional development processes are carried out while protecting the environment to improve the quality of life of residents.

Establishment of a waste sorting and treatment facility
Removal of asbestos roofs
Climate Change Preparedness
Environmental care in neighborhoods
Environmental support in planning and licensing processes, supervision and control
Restoration of degraded areas and contaminated lands
