Jerusalem, 1 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Education Minister Yoav Kish declare, “No high school graduation exams under fire.” This means that this week’s matriculation exams scheduled for Israel’s northern areas currently under threat of Hezbollah attacks will be postponed, history and Arabic exams for Arabic speakers will be based on internal grades.

The decision applies to the coming week, between May 31 and June 5. Decisions regarding the continuation of the exam period will be made on a weekly basis, in accordance with developments and Home Front Command guidelines.

Main points of the decision:

All matriculation exams scheduled for this week, between May 31 and June 5, will not be held in the guidance areas and localities listed by the Education Ministry.
The history matriculation exam, which was scheduled to take place today(June 1), will not take place and the internal grade will be the determining grade.
The Arabic matriculation exam for Arabic speakers (June 2nd) will not be held and the internal score will be the determining score.
The men’s subject exams scheduled for June 4th are postponed at this time.
The Examinations Division will later publish a detailed announcement regarding alternative dates or other alternatives.
