Jerusalem, 12 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar thanked Japanese Ambassador to Israel, Arai Yusuke for hosting him on the occasion of Japan’s National Day, which was marked yesterday, and ahead of the Emperor’s birthday later this month.
“The Jewish and Japanese peoples are two nations with ancient histories and rich traditions that value learning and diligence,” said Sa’ar. “Alongside this shared heritage, Israel and Japan are both leaders in technology and innovation. We’ll continue working together for our mutual prosperity.”
Sa’ar also expressed Israel’s congratulations for Japanese PM Takaichi’s “decisive victory” in the Japanese elections.
The Japanese embassy responded by thanking Sa’ar in a social media post, saying “Our shared commitment to innovation, tradition, and hard work is the bedrock of our flourishing partnership,” and adding that they are “Looking forward to our continued work together for the prosperity of both our nations.
