Israel Backs Trump on Iran, PM Netanyahu Says

Jerusalem, 8 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel supports U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, as long as Tehran instantly reopens the straits and stops all attacks on the United States, Israel, and regional countries.

In an announcement issued by thw PM’s Office in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said Israel also supports U.S. efforts to ensure Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile, or terrorism threat to the United States, Israel, Iran’s Arab neighbors, or the wider world.

He said Washington had told Israel it remains committed to those goals in the upcoming negotiations.

The Prime Minister added that the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon.
