Senior Israeli Military Commander Says Assault on Hezbollah Stronghold Bint Jbeil Is ‘Significant Operational Move’

Jerusalem, 14 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The commander of the IDF’s (Israel Defense Forces) Northern Command (responsible for Lebanon and Syria), Major General Rafi Milo, held a situation assessment in southern Lebanon together with other senior IDF officers. The assessment was held in Bint Jbeil, until recently a Hezbollah stronghold.

“In the past day, we completed the encirclement of the area and launched an attack on Bint Jbeil,” he said. “This is a significant operational move. At the same time, the forces are operating throughout the security zone to destroy the enemy’s terror infrastructure, while integrating a continuous offensive effort. We will continue to act with determination to remove the threats and ensure the security of the northern residents.”
