Military Dismantles Two Hamas Weapons Storage Sites Hidden in Gaza Mosques
The IDF and Shin Bet dismantled two Hamas weapons storage sites hidden inside Gaza mosques, seizing rifles and military equipment.
Jerusalem, 24 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) conducted “precise strikes” in the Shati and Deir al-Balah areas of Gaza, dismantling two Hamas weapons storage facilities containing dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, and additional military equipment.
The facilities, established inside two mosques in Gaza, were used by Hamas terrorists to conceal and store weapons, the military said.
Prior to the strikes, advance warnings were issued to the population to mitigate harm to civilians, alongside additional precautions including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
The IDF described the strikes as “another example of Hamas’s systematic exploitation of civilian infrastructure, including mosques, in violation of international law, to advance and execute terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.”
