Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Minister of Defense issued a statement Monday afternoon declaring that as long as Israel’s northern communities continue to be attacked by Hezbollah, then Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah targets as far north as in Beirut. This, in defiance of Iranian threats to renew missile attacks on Israel should Israel strike Beirut again.

“The fate of the Dahiyeh in Beirut will be the same as the fate of the northern communities,” said Katz. “Any attack on the northern communities will lead to an attack on the Dahiyeh.”

“We reject Iran’s threats outright,” he added. “Any Iranian attempt to link Lebanon and Iran and attack Israel — will be met with great force, as happened yesterday.”

Katz also pledged that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) will continue to operate in Lebanon against the Hezbollah Terror organization.
