Jerusalem, 7 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Following the Israeli military’s strike on Beirut yesterday, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said it is continuing to conduct situation assessments regarding the security situation of Israel’s northern sector.

Accordingly, the IDF decided to cancel events that were exempted from the Home Front Command’s defense policy in the confrontation line area, due to the possibility of retaliatory fire by the terrorist organization Hezbollah into the area.

The IDF called on the public to remain vigilant and alert.

The IDF also emphasized that, as of now, there is no change in the Home Front Command’s guidelines. If there is a change, it will update the citizens and authorities in an orderly manner.

Monday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz approved the attack carried out by the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) on the commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, Malek Balout, in Beirut in order to eliminate him.

Balout was confirmed killed in the attack.

This was Israel’s first direct assault on Beirut since the ceasefire in Lebanon was implemented.
