Israel Confirms Killing Islamic Jihad Commander in Lebanons Beqaa Region

Jerusalem, 18 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel struck the Baalbek area in Lebanon, killing Wael Mahmoud Abd al-Halim, commander of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Beqaa region overnight, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed.

According to the IDF, Halim coordinated the integration of Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives with Hezbollah and planned attacks on troops.
