The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) struck southern Gaza on Sunday, killing Talal Jaber Mohammed Abed Al-Aal, an operative in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organization, the army said.
According to the IDF, Al-Aal commanded a cell of terrorists who breached the border into Israeli territory and took part in the October 7 massacre.
Throughout the war, the army said, Al-Aal was involved in holding hostages who were in the custody of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in southern Gaza.
IDF forces in the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue acting to remove any immediate threats, the army said.
