Jerusalem, 4 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Security inaugurated a new treatment campus at the Youth Welfare Authority’s Gilam residential home. The new complex includes three modern residential buildings that will accommodate an additional 36 youths.
Gilam Daycare is a closed daycare for youth at the edge of the risk continuum, who need a supportive and supportive framework towards starting an independent life. The daycare emphasizes promoting youth to conduct themselves independently, going to work and studying outside the daycare, completing the matriculation exams, and preparing for enlistment in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) or pre-military preparatory schools with the guidance of a professional team.
In addition, at Gilam, the office also operates a wilderness therapy program that uses the open spaces of the daycare as a tool for building resilience and changing behavioral patterns.
