Jerusalem, 21 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Health updated that a report was received of a second person in Israel suspected of being infected with the Ebola Virus, after returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The individual, who returned to Israel two days ago, sought medical attention after developing a fever, headache, and diarrhea. At this stage, it is only a suspicion, and the necessary tests are currently being conducted. The test results are expected in the coming days.
The person is being treated under isolation conditions in accordance with the professional procedures established for dealing with high-risk infectious diseases, and is being transferred to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, which has been designated as one of the centers designated for receiving suspects of this type.
