Jerusalem, 29 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Culture and Sports is launching a new campaign to “strengthen and encourage” Israeli cinema under the banner “Israeli Cinema, An Israeli Story.”

The campaign presents the Ministry of Culture and Sports’ policy supporting “original, high-quality Israeli cinema – which the Israeli public loves and chooses to see.”

It stars actor Golan Azoulay, speaks of the connection between the Israeli audience that comes to the cinemas and the state’s support for regional foundations in the periphery and for Israeli creativity.

Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar:

“Israeli cinema is an inseparable part of our identity. The reform that I am leading in the film industry returns cinema to the people, and the Israeli audience to the movie theaters. The reform opens the door to new creators and refreshing creation and encourages Israeli films that are successful both artistically and with the general audience. Cinema is returning to the people.”
