The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, toured southern Lebanon today (Wednesday) along with the Commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, the Head of the Technology and Logistics Directorate, Maj. Gen. Rami Aboudram, the Commander of the Northern Corps, Maj. Gen. Yaki Dolf, the Commander of Division 162, Brig. Gen. Shagiv Dahan, the Commander of the Nahal Brigade, the Commander of Brigade 401, the Commander of Reserve Brigade 5, the Commander of Brigade 215, and additional commanders.
As part of the visit, the Chief of Staff conducted an observation and situation assessment in the field, spoke with the commanders, and expressed his appreciation for the fighters operating in southern Lebanon.
The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, said: “Yesterday I approved plans for continuation along with the General Staff Forum – we continue to hold ongoing situation assessments and approve plans both in Lebanon and in Iran.”
“In a joint operation with the US military, we severely struck the Iranian terror regime, stripped them of their defensive capabilities, and weakened them,” the Chief of Staff continued. “Now we must not allow them achievements on the nuclear issue, in Hormuz, and on the other issues on the agenda. We are at a very high state of readiness, Air Force aircraft are armed and ready, and the targets are fed into the systems – we know how to launch them for a powerful attack immediately.”

“In Lebanon, we are striking Hezbollah in multiple locations. Hezbollah, with over 1,700 killed since the start of the campaign, is a severe blow to the terror organization,” added Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. “In these hours, we are continuing the operation in Bint Jbeil by forces of Division 98, and operating to clear terror villages in the Beit Lif area by forces of Division 162. In addition to them, forces from three additional divisions are stabilizing the front defensive line as defined. I have ordered that the entire area in southern Lebanon up to the Litani River will become a destruction zone for Hezbollah terrorists.”
“Great appreciation to the forces of Division 162. Together with the Northern Command, you are achieving significant operational successes. We are advancing, striking Hezbollah, and they are retreating. Hezbollah is weakened and isolated in Lebanon.”
“When you look back, you see Hanita, Zar’it, and Shlomi – we are fighting for them and to allow them long-term peace and security,” the Chief of Staff concluded. “There are extraordinary displays of heroism here. We are paying heavy prices, but we understand that this is our mission and we are moving forward. We will continue to strike Hezbollah terrorists and destroy terror infrastructure.”
