“Every handgun taken off the street is a life we saved” – The Commissioner and the Minister of National Security received an overview of the operation that concluded this morning, during which Lahav 433 deployed an undercover agent in the Bedouin sector. Shortly ago, the visit of the Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, Police Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Danny Levy, and Head of the Investigations and Intelligence Directorate, Commissioner Boaz Balt, to Lahav 433 concluded. There, they received an overview from the Head of Lahav, Commissioner Meni Benjamin, on the “Nomad” affair that was exposed this morning. During the visit, the findings seized as part of the affair were presented, including 25 handguns, four M16 rifles, and about half a kilogram of cocaine, alongside an overview of the operational activity and the main points of the investigation. As part of the operation and at the end of a significant undercover investigation in which Lahav 433 deployed an undercover agent for the first time in the Bedouin sector, 45 targets were implicated, of which 20 are significant crime targets. The Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, expressed appreciation to all the partners in the operation and said, “This is what a proactive, offensive, and professional police force looks like – one that delivers a knockout blow to crime.” Police Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Danny Levy: “We will not accept a reality of illegal weapons on the streets. We will not allow crime organizations to believe they are stronger than the state. We will reach every criminal, everywhere, and at any time.”
