Earlier today (Saturday), the IDF identified a vehicle moving suspiciously towards the forces near the village of Tibnit in Lebanon. The vehicle was traveling in an active and evacuated combat zone.

In addition, information in the IDF’s possession indicates that Hezbollah is operating extensively in this area. Following the identification and in light of the warning information and the danger to forces, the vehicle was attacked. A preliminary examination indicates that the vehicle carried two officers and a soldier of the Lebanese army. The incident is being investigated. We emphasize that this is a combat zone that requires movement coordination with the IDF. The IDF is investigating the incident and will draw lessons accordingly. IDF forces are operating against the terrorist organization Hezbollah and not against the Lebanese army.
