Earlier today (Saturday), IDF and Border Police forces responded to several locations in the Huwara area of the Samaria Brigade, following a report of suspected theft of sheep belonging to Israeli civilians.

Subsequently, a number of rioters arrived in the village area, and violent confrontations developed, including stone-throwing and the use of batons between Israeli and Palestinian civilians. The claim of several injured Palestinians is acknowledged. The forces acted to disperse the gatherings using riot dispersal means. The gatherings were dispersed, and security forces are in the area to prevent further disturbances. An investigation into the incident has begun in the Judea and Samaria District Police. The IDF strongly condemns violence of any kind that harms security in the area and diverts the attention of commanders and soldiers from their tasks of defense and counter-terrorism. In addition, documentation is acknowledged in which an IDF soldier acted violently towards a Palestinian. The actions seen in the video are serious and do not align with IDF values. The case is being investigated, and once the soldier is located, he will be disciplined and command and disciplinary measures will be taken according to the findings.
